Learn how to create your Feedtracks account and get started with audio collaboration.

Sign Up Options

Feedtracks offers two ways to create an account:

Option 1: Magic Link (Email)

No password required - just enter your email and click the link we send you.

Steps:

  1. Go to feedtracks.com/login
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Click Send Magic Link
  4. Check your inbox for an email from noreply@feedtracks.com
  5. Click the link in the email (valid for 15 minutes)
  6. You’re automatically logged in!

Benefits:

  • No password to remember
  • More secure than traditional passwords
  • Works across all devices

Magic link format:

https://feedtracks.com/login/magic?context=login#{token}

The token is unique and expires after 15 minutes for security.

Option 2: Sign in with Google

Use your existing Google account for instant access.

Steps:

  1. Go to feedtracks.com/login
  2. Click Sign in with Google
  3. Choose your Google account
  4. Grant Feedtracks permission to access your basic profile
  5. You’re logged in!

What we access:

  • Name (to personalize your profile)
  • Email address (for account identification)
  • Profile picture (optional, displayed in comments)

Note: We never access your Google Drive files or other Google services.

Guest vs. Registered Accounts

Starting as a Guest

If you visit Feedtracks without logging in, you’ll automatically get a guest profile:

  • ✅ Can listen to shared tracks
  • ✅ Can leave comments on shared content
  • ✅ Limited storage (no uploads)
  • ❌ Cannot create drives or folders
  • ❌ Cannot upload your own tracks

Guest profiles are temporary and perfect for:

  • Clients reviewing demos
  • One-time collaborators
  • Evaluating Feedtracks before signing up

Converting Guest to Registered

When you sign up after using Feedtracks as a guest, your data automatically migrates:

  1. All your guest comments transfer to your new account
  2. Access to shared drives you were invited to is preserved
  3. Your listening history carries over
  4. Notifications and preferences migrate

No data loss - everything you did as a guest remains under your new account.

Account Linking

Google OAuth Linking

If you create an account with email first, you can link Google OAuth later:

  1. Go to SettingsAccount
  2. Click Link Google Account
  3. Sign in with Google
  4. Your Google profile is now linked

Benefits:

  • Login with either magic link or Google
  • Single account, multiple login methods
  • Easier access across devices

Multiple Email Addresses

Important: One account per email address. If you need to:

  • Change your email: Go to Settings → Account → Change Email
  • Use multiple emails: Create separate accounts (not recommended for collaboration)

Initial Setup After Sign Up

Step 1: Complete Your Profile

Profile setup page

After first login, you’ll be prompted to:

  1. Choose a username (appears in comments, @ mentions)

    • 3-20 characters
    • Letters, numbers, underscores only
    • Must be unique across Feedtracks
  2. Add a profile picture (optional)

    • JPG, PNG, or GIF
    • Max 5 MB
    • Shown in comments and collaborator lists
  3. Set your display name (optional)

    • Can be different from username
    • Appears in email notifications

Step 2: Your “My Drive” is Created Automatically

Upon registration, Feedtracks creates your personal drive:

  • Name: “My Drive” (customizable)
  • Type: Private (only you can access)
  • Storage: Based on your plan (Fan: 10 GB default)

This is your private workspace for:

  • Uploading tracks
  • Creating folders
  • Organizing projects

You can rename it later in Settings.

Step 3: Choose Your Plan

You start on the Fan plan:

  • 10 GB storage
  • Unlimited tracks
  • 2 shared drives
  • All core features

Upgrade anytime in Settings → Billing:

  • Pro: 100 GB, 10 shared drives
  • Studio: 1 TB, unlimited drives, advanced features

Account Security

Session Management

Your login session:

  • Stays active for 30 days of inactivity
  • Automatically refreshes with activity
  • Can be logged out manually from any device

  • Changes sync in real-time

Security Best Practices

  2. Select Logout

Logout from all devices:

  1. Go to Settings → Security

  3. Confirm action
  4. You’ll need to re-login on all devices

Revoke Google OAuth:

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions
  2. Find “Feedtracks”
  3. Click Remove Access

Troubleshooting

Magic link not arriving

Cause: Email filtering or slow delivery

Solutions:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Wait 2-3 minutes (sometimes delayed)
  3. Add noreply@feedtracks.com to contacts
  4. Request new magic link
  5. Try Google OAuth instead

Magic link expired

Cause: Link valid for 15 minutes only

Solutions:

  1. Request a new magic link
  2. Use the new link within 15 minutes
  3. If repeatedly expiring, check system clock is correct

Google OAuth error

Cause: Google account issues or browser blocking

Solutions:

  1. Ensure popup blockers are disabled
  2. Try incognito/private browsing mode
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies
  4. Use different browser
  5. Check Google account is active (not suspended)

“Email already in use”

Cause: Account already exists with that email

Solutions:

  1. Use magic link to login instead
  2. If you forgot you had an account, request password reset
  3. Check if you used Google OAuth previously
  4. Contact support if unable to access existing account

Guest data not migrating

Cause: Browser cleared cookies before signup

Solutions:

  1. If just signed up, data should migrate automatically
  2. Check if you used same browser/device as guest
  3. Contact support with guest comment examples
  4. We can manually migrate data with proof of ownership

Account Deletion

Deleting Your Account

Permanent action - cannot be undone.

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Click Delete Account
  4. Enter your email to confirm
  5. Confirm deletion

  • All your drives and tracks are permanently deleted
  • Comments on shared content are anonymized
  • Shared drives you’re a member of remain (you’re removed)
  • Billing subscriptions are canceled
  • Email address is freed for reuse after 90 days

Before deleting:

  • Download important tracks (no bulk export yet)
  • Transfer ownership of shared drives
