Speak Instead of Type

Express complex mixing notes in 30 seconds instead of spending 2 minutes typing. Capture tone, emotion, and nuance that text comments simply can't convey.

3x
Faster than typing

Average feedback time: 30 sec vs 90 sec typed

  • Explain EQ moves vocally: "Boost around 3kHz for presence, like this..."
  • Demonstrate rhythm patterns by humming or beatboxing
  • Convey the "feel" you're going for with vocal inflection
Audio comment recording interface with waveform

Record directly on the waveform with live visualization

Real-time waveform visualization while recording

See your voice as you record - no guessing

Real-Time Waveform Visualization

Watch your voice appear as you speak. Live input monitoring ensures you're capturing clean audio without clipping or background noise.

Pro Tip: Position your mic 6-8 inches away and watch the waveform stay in the green zone for optimal recording quality.

  • Instant visual feedback prevents re-recording
  • See exactly what you're capturing in real-time

Perfect for Musical Ideas

Hum melodies, sing harmonies, or beatbox rhythm ideas. Some musical concepts are impossible to write but easy to demonstrate vocally.

See It In Action

Watch how audio comments streamline production feedback

Demo: Recording voice feedback directly on tracks for detailed production notes

How It Works

Start giving voice feedback in 3 simple steps

1

Navigate to timestamp

Play your track and pause at the exact moment where you want to add voice feedback. The waveform shows exactly where you are.

2

Record your voice

Click the microphone icon and start speaking. Watch the real-time waveform visualization as you record up to 2 minutes.

3

Review and post

Play back your recording to verify it sounds good. Then post to share with your team, or delete and re-record if needed.

View Guide

"Audio comments completely changed how we give feedback. Instead of typing paragraphs trying to explain a mixing issue, I just say it out loud - 'boost the highs here, like this.' Takes 20 seconds instead of 2 minutes, and the producer gets exactly what I mean."

Who Uses Audio Comments?

Real scenarios from audio professionals

For Producers

"Explain exact EQ moves with vocal demonstrations"

"Boost around 3kHz for vocal presence, you want it to sound like this... [demonstrates]. Not too much or it gets harsh."

For Artists

"Hum melody ideas without needing notation skills"

"I'm hearing a counter-melody here that goes [hums melody]. Maybe layer that in with the synth?"

For Clients

"Quick mobile feedback without typing on phone"

"Love this section! The energy is perfect. Just wondering if we could make the drums punchier here?"

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about audio comments

Will my clients find this confusing or technical?

No - it's actually simpler than text comments. Click the microphone icon, speak your feedback, and post. Most clients find voice feedback more natural than typing, especially on mobile devices.

What if I make a mistake while recording?

Simply delete and re-record instantly. There's no penalty for re-recording - the interface makes it as easy as deleting a text comment and typing a new one. Most users nail it in one take anyway.

Why is there a 2-minute limit?

The 2-minute limit keeps feedback focused and actionable. In practice, most production notes take 30-60 seconds to articulate. If you need more time, you can post multiple audio comments or combine audio and text comments on the same timestamp.

What audio quality can I expect?

Audio comments are recorded and stored as compressed audio files (AAC/MP3) optimized for voice. The compression is transparent for speech - your voice will sound clear and natural while keeping file sizes small (typically under 1MB per 2-minute comment).

Do audio comments count toward my storage quota?

No. Audio comments are designed to be lightweight (500KB-1MB) and don't count against your storage quota. Leave as many audio comments as you need without worrying about running out of space.

Can I download audio comments?

Not currently, but we're considering adding this feature. If downloading audio comments is important to your workflow, please reach out and let us know - user feedback helps us prioritize new features.
